Ailenin en büyüğü Koca Mustafa Bey, 1880’ li yıllarda gemi tamir işlerine başlamak üzere istanbul’a gelir. Aslan ailesi 1954 yılında döküm ve makine alanına girer ve 1961 yılında ilk haddehaneyi kurar.1969 yılında ise istanbul Çelik Demir izabe Sanayi A.Ş. kurulmuştur... 1970 yılından bu yana inşaat çeliği ve alaşımlı çelik üreten iÇDAŞ, üretim kapasitesiyle Türkiye’nin 2. Büyük çelik üreticisidir.

(iSO) istanbul Sanayi Odası Belirlemelerine göre kamu dahil Türkiye’nin 500 Büyük Sanayi kuruluşu arasında genel sıralamada 2014 yılında 6’ıncı sırada yer alan iÇDAŞ’ın grup şirketleriyle birlikte 10.000’e yakın çalışanı bulunmaktadır.
